SENIOR BRAND MANAGER

The Senior Brand Manager is responsible for the development of the yearly brand plan based on marketing strategies to meet the financial goals and objectives for the Kenra® brand(s). In addition to the annual brand plan, the Senior Brand Manager will report to the Vice President of Marketing to support the development of the department’s methodologies, processes, and procedures that align with the Kenra values and beliefs.

Responsibilities:

Brand Plan Development and Management:
• Creates annual brand plans based on sales analysis and brand fundamentals for both Classic and Platinum brands; lead development and execution of annual plans to deliver brand objectives as approved by the executive staff.
• Coordinates the brand plan(s) to ensure alignment with all “account plans” and “territory plans” including managing the yearly promotional calendar (national and custom programs by account like Focus Month) to ensure brand focus and integrity and manages any custom initiatives and opportunities for all the accounts to ensure brand(s) focus and integrity.
• Through alignment with the “account plans” and the “territory plans,” ensures the coordination of the annual brand plan(s) with sales management to ensure successful sell-in and sell-through at all accounts.
• Responsible for developing (or having developed by staff) and disseminating communication plans to include comprehensible presentations of brand strategies and marketing initiatives to account managers, sales executives, senior regional managers and regional managers.
• Presents brand plan to key accounts on a quarterly basis or as needed basis.
• Ascertains adequate procedures are in place for either marketing assistance or approval (as necessary) of any communication processes created by the sales team.
• Works closely with Product Marketing Manager on new product launches (ideation phase and ideal launch months based on brand financial goals).
• Works with sales executives and manages account managers on ensuring successful sell-in and sell-through of promotions and products at all accounts.
• Manages retailing and merchandising plans and other collateral needs for the brands with creative teams.
• Develops brand communication plans to include digital and social media.
• Executes Customer Relation Management (CRM) plan and manages accuracy of salon database for management reports.

Financial Analysis
• Manages the annual marketing budget to meet the criteria of desired revenue and profit goals with incorporating ROI analysis for promotions and assessing off brand plan promotional opportunities.
• Manages marketing programs to drive sales with use of Kenra’s sales data and/or accounts’ data.
• Provides overview for brand sales on all accounts (LY vs. TY, YTD goals) and analyzes impact of promotions and new products.

Job Requirements:

• 8+ years experience in marketing with brand management and development with financial analysis, preferably with a consumer goods and/or beauty products company.
• 2+ years experience at a senior marketing level with management of more than two direct reports.
• Professional beauty industry and/or consumer package knowledge preferred.
• Strong analytical skills to understand financial goals and to manage marketing strategies is a must.
• Excellent communication skills - written, oral, and presentation formats.
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred, but not mandatory.
